Communicating with your Agent.
I had an experience yesterday that really made me think about things. I was doing an open house in Spring Hill Florida in a new sub-division and had a couple come in breif visit. The couple had been looking at homes in the area an really liked the layout and surrounding area. Because they were from Alaska, the warm climate and attractivness of a new community really excited them....until they saw the price! After looking at the information sheet, they remarked, "This is 4/3/3. Do you have something smaller???" I suspect that it was not that they wanted something smaller, but that they wanted a lower price. It would have made things a lot easier if they had said, "We like this, but do you have anything a little less expensive?" Then I could have possibly found something matching the spec of the house that we were in, only at a lower price. I know that Real Estate agents need to improve on lots of things, communication skills being one of them...However, it is a two-way street. The better your needs as a consumer are communicated to the agent, the faster the agent can help you find what you are looking for.
